Born at the end ‘800, Camparia is the Florio’s Tonnara of Favignana. Here were built the equipment, boats and nets necessary for tuna fishing nad for the ancient practice of “mattanza”.

Timeless beauty

Designed and built by architect Almeyda, the Camparia is located on the seafront, in Piazza Marina, on the perspective cone overlooking the ex Florio factory.

The Camparia architectural complex has been declared a monument of historical and artistic interest by the Sicily Region, constituting, together with the Florio factory, the most important and representative monumental site in the history of tuna fishing in the Mediterranean.

Memory of the island

Camparia is a surviving example of industrial architecture, a historical memory of the activity connected to tuna fishing, life and island's history. Due to its historical, architectural, social and anthropological value it represents one of the most important attractors of the Egadi Islands.
